Ole Pride Volleyball Camp

Dear Summer Campers, Families and Partners,

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the uncertainties it presents for group gatherings, St. Olaf has elected not to host programming, summer camps, events, or conferences during June, July, and August 2021.

This was a very difficult decision as we carefully assessed the risks and weighed them with the benefits of different summer scenarios.  Certainly the availability of vaccines was considered as a reason to host a smaller version of summer offerings, but the COVID-19 virus’ continuing presence in Rice County and across the state continues to reflect a risk to our staff, students, faculty and guests.  We have made this decision with the welfare and safety of all at the forefront of our considerations.

We appreciate your partnership, interest and support of St. Olaf and we truly look forward to having the pandemic behind us and to welcoming camps, conferences and events to the St. Olaf campus in 2022.

College Events Team
St. Olaf College

St Olaf volleyball camps are designed for players who have been playing competitively in associations or school programs and have yet to complete their senior year of high school.  There will be both “technique focused” and “competition focused” sessions, along with an emphasis on the mental side of training with 2 “Mind Gym” sessions, providing a unique opportunity to take their game to the next level. Players will receive a well-rounded volleyball experience designed to build their love and passion for the game. They will also be given the opportunity to interact and be coached by current Ole volleyball players and coaches. Volleyball training and other activities are balanced with recreational activities that are supervised by camp coaches and counselors.

The camp provides a complete experience on the beautiful St. Olaf campus in historic Northfield, Minnesota.

Meet the Coaches

Emily Foster will be heading into her fifth season as an Ole coach. Before coming to St. Olaf, Foster spent the previous three seasons as an assistant coach at Division II Northern State University, where she handled defense and was the program’s recruiting coordinator. Before her stint at Northern State, Foster spent two seasons as a graduate assistant at MSU-Mankato. Foster was a three-time All-American and two-time MIAC MVP at the University of St. Thomas. She helped lead the Tommies to three NCAA appearances, including a trip to the quarterfinals in her final season.

Damien Fox is in his second season as an assistant coach for the St. Olaf volleyball team. Fox was the head coach at Faribault High School from 2013–15 and was an assistant coach at Lakeville North for the past two seasons, including their 2017 Class AAA State Championship team. Fox also coaches for the Northern Lights Volleyball Club and spends his summers coaching volleyball camps.

Katie Payne is in her first season as an assistant coach for the St. Olaf volleyball program and Vital Volleyball Club for the 2019–20 season. Payne, who played three years for the Oles and graduated in 2018, finished her career as a co-captain of the 2017 team that advanced to the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) semifinals. Payne spent her first year out of college as an assistant coach for the Edina Volleyball Association.

Ole Pride Volleyball Staff
Coach Foster will complete her staff with current Ole Volleyball athletes and members of the coaching staff. The energetic and talented Ole players will provide direction, encouragement, and a glimpse into what life is like at St. Olaf. It is a great opportunity for younger players to interact with college athletes.
