St. Olaf College is hosting listening sessions with alumni of color in Minneapolis, Chicago, and New York this fall.

Assistant to the President and Chief Diversity Officer Bruce King invited alumni in each of those cities to a “What’s Happening on the Hill” gathering focused on both sharing news from campus and gathering insight and feedback from alumni of color.

“As we reflect and learn from the experiences of last spring’s protests and teach-ins about race and social justice, we are reminded that progress requires continual improvement and the engagement of alumni of color is a very important part of the process,” King wrote in his invitation to alumni.

“I know that each of us has a story, and it is in those stories that we learn, grow, and improve the St. Olaf experience for current Oles and our increasingly diverse faculty and staff,” he added. “The more diverse voices we hear, the greater the impact we can make in shaping a better St. Olaf.”

The events are being organized by the St. Olaf Office of Alumni and Parent Relations.
