St. Olaf College | International Students

Your new friendly home!!

When I made the choice as an International Student to go away from home there were a plethora colleges in the US that i could choose from, a lot of which were either ranked a bit higher or are closer to places where I have some family. I decided to choose St Olaf College, in Minnesota, a place which not many people I knew had not even heard of not one day since that day 2 years ago have I regretted this decision.

Talented People

It is not rare to find somebody at St. Olaf who speaks more than 3 or more languages, and at the same time is a Math and Music double major. The liberal arts education at St. Olaf makes people very well rounded. In fact, companies that were looking for people majoring in fields of Math and technology asked for more graduates from here to come and join there company as they said that students with the liberal art education that St. Olaf offer have much more to offer than solely the expertise in their own field that a lot of the other graduates from technical colleges possess.

Friends

St. Olaf has a very tight-knit community, which makes it really easy to make friends. Everybody trusts each other, which makes it a desirable home to live in. People leave their bags with all sorts of expensive items such as laptops lying around the campus without any fear of losing it and find it exactly where they left it. All our mailboxes are open without any lock, thus, making them available for anybody to open, yet nobody does, except when leaving a kind note, gift or a flower there for you. As an international student you have an even stronger head start, with a super-friendly international community, where you will find friends before you now it.

I can’t wait to meet you all and share my new home with you!
Have a great rest of the summer,
