Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Library Guide
Chair/Lead: Ann Schaenzer

The Problem
The St. Olaf Libraries have a variety of resources in DEI areas, but these are somewhat hidden among the hundreds of thousands of resources we offer, both print and online. These resources need to be more easily accessible to the community. A carefully constructed Library Guide (LibGuide) can help our community navigate through our resources.
Since the guide was publicly published last summer, we have returned to it in order to add relevant resources related to campus speakers. We also highlighted recent DEI additions to Rolvaag following our requests for approximately 35 new titles this January. We were also featured in a recent “This Week at St. Olaf” newsletter. In the future, we plan to reach out to a variety of groups on-campus to gather their input on potential additions to Rolvaag’s collection and on how we might make the guide more robust.
Goals
The desired goal of the library guide is that students, faculty, and staff find the information included on it useful, up to date, and relevant.
Actions Taken
The Library Research and Instruction Librarians created a library guide highlighting resources that relate to the field of diversity, equity, and inclusion. The guide, while timeless in nature, will be updated on a yearly basis to add new resources we have acquired or include existing resources now relevant to the field.
To help ensure the guide has value for the community, we will gather input and resource ideas from the VP for Equity and Inclusion, the Taylor Center, Gender and Sexuality Studies, Race and Ethnic Studies, CAAS, and DAC. We will also ask that the LibGuide is publicized through their offices and at their events (where appropriate).
