LITS Job Description Update

The Problem
LITS job descriptions have been written to convey the duties and responsibilities to potential hires and the individuals hired for the positions. This description currently does not convey our workplace expectations surrounding diversity, equity, and inclusion. These expectations are as important as the work itself, and should explicitly be part of employee responsibilities.
Goals
We will add a statement about our diversity, equity and inclusion expectations to all staff and student staff job descriptions. Our DEI work is an integral part of each position and is not just a workplace environment expectation. LITS supervisors will update all staff and student staff descriptions to include this statement that conveys our commitment to creating and maintaining an environment where all are treated with respect and dignity, free from bias and harassment and all participate in the work of reaching that goal.
Actions Taken
The LITS DEI team and the LITS leadership will insert the newly crafted statement below into each LITS staff job description in the other duties section.
Accomplishments so Far
1. A DEI statement has been written and work to update all descriptions will begin this summer and will continue over the course of the academic year.
