St. Olaf names new associate college pastor
She will begin working with the St. Olaf Student Congregation August 1.
For the last four years, Fick has been serving as the pastor of Hayward Lutheran Church and Trondhjem Lutheran Church in southern Minnesota. In addition to the full range of pastoral duties, she developed a curriculum for small group ministries and collaborated with lay leaders to start a children’s ministry program.
She has worked with the Southeastern Minnesota Synod on its assembly worship planning team for several years and has traveled to Germany on a Martin Luther tour and to Kenya and South Sudan for service work there.
“From worship to pastoral conversations, learning opportunities to service projects, the associate college pastor is involved in every ministry of the St. Olaf Student Congregation,” College Pastor Matthew Marohl says. “Pastor Fick brings joy and grace and depth to all aspects of her pastoral ministry. I am thrilled to have her join our college ministry team.”
A native of Wells, Minnesota, Fick earned her baccalaureate degree from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where she majored in music. She worked as an administrative associate at the First Presbyterian Church in Sioux Falls for several years before she enrolled in seminary. She earned her master of divinity degree from Luther Seminary in 2010.
