St. Olaf women’s Nordic skiing team wins overall team title at USCSA National Championships
The St. Olaf College women’s Nordic skiing team won three of the four events and the overall team title at the United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA), beating numerous other teams from across the country.
Lily Hubanks ’25 and Amae Kam-Magruder ’27 led the Oles to their third consecutive USCSA overall team title by both placing in the top three in the individual combined standings. Hubanks and Kam-Magruder finished in a tie for second over the three individual events, with Hubanks placing second and Kam-Magruder third on a tiebreaker.
Hubanks won her fifth USCSA individual national title by winning the 7.5K Freestyle to start the week and was second in the 15K Classic. Kam-Magruder won the 15K Classic for her first USCSA national title and, like Hubanks, was in the top five in all three individual events.
“Being part of the team has been a great experience for me, mainly because of the strong sense of community we share,” Hubanks says. “The environment is very positive and encouraging, and I love spending time with everyone.”
As a team, St. Olaf won the 7.5K Freestyle, Classic Sprint, and 15K Classic and was second in a weather-altered team sprint relay to close out the week. Over the last three years, the Oles have won nine of the 11 team events held at the USCSA National Championships.
