Residence Hall nearly half height
The Residence Hall building is significantly taller today than it was earlier this week. The Boldt construction crew is pouring the second-level concrete slab for the building, and they will be finished by this afternoon. This is roughly the halfway point of the structure’s total height. After the pour, the concrete will take time to cure before construction crews move onto the next slab.
Cement trucks will be moving in and out of the street from early morning through the afternoon. The crew begins early in the morning so as to beat the heat and be done for the day before it gets too hot.
In the coming weeks, the Boldt crew will pour the final slab and roof elevations, and the building will grow taller. A helpful demonstration of its final height can be found in the fly-through of the renderings, which you can see here.
