We’re six weeks into the implementation of Oracle
Oracle has been live for just over six weeks, which means that we’re still in the early phase of our implementation. All of us, including the Oracle team, are experiencing a significant change in how we do things around here. As we learn Oracle, we’re almost certainly less efficient and less productive, which can be frustrating, especially when something doesn’t work, either because of a bug or s lack of familiarity on your end — or ours.
“Going live” can open the door for numerous concerns, complications, and questions — with all of us suddenly becoming collaborators in solving problems that weren’t easy to detect in the testing phase.
It is against this background that we thank you for your patience, your willingness to submit your questions through TDX, and your goodwill as we undergo this transition together.

Updates and News
Amazon Business:
Amazon Business is now part of the Oracle procurement module. You will no longer have the ability to purchase online or to do so using your mobile device. Because of the limited number of licenses for this module, only certain members of the community will have access to purchase through Amazon Business. Your cost center manager will also need to pre-approve purchases. Please see the following link for more information, and if you have questions, please contact Nate Engle.
Financial Reporting:
We have updated the reports used in Financial Reporting. Please click on this link for more information.
Benefits, Payslips, and TIAA/HSA/FSA Contributions Check-in:
Now is the perfect time to review your elected benefits, January payslip(s), and personal information. It’s also a good time to check your TIAA and HSA, and/or FSA contributions.
- HSA/FSA: you can access information about your HSA/FSA through Further later this week, and, as of January 16, you can access and update your TIAA information at tiaa.com/stolaf. If you have questions about accessing any of your information or if something looks inaccurate, please reach out to hrstaff@stolaf.edu.
- IMPORTANT NOTE: If you would like to designate an HSA contribution for calendar year 2024, please follow the instructions below for reporting a “Life Event.” Please review any HSA deductions carefully, as we are still working through some challenges with the programming.
- Changing your HSA Contributions and Designating your Beneficiaries: to change your HSA contributions or designate your beneficiaries, you will need to report a “Life Event” in Oracle. Click here for more information about how to report a “Life Event.”
