Nancy Thompson received her BA from Southern Methodist University and her MA and PhD from Indiana University in Bloomington. Nancy teaches introductory courses in Art History and upper-level courses in medieval and Renaissance art, including a January interim course in Florence. She teaches Introduction to Women’s and Gender Studies every few years and taught in The window Great Conversation program from 2010-12. See a complete list of courses with descriptions.
Nancy is currently at work on a project entitled “St. Bonaventure’s Theology of Light and Franciscan Stained Glass in Medieval Tuscany and Umbria,” which will be the first book-length study of Italian medieval stained glass in English. She has also published a series of articles on the revival of medieval stained glass in nineteenth-century Florence. For more publications, see her CV.
