Gifts can be made over the phone through the Student Outreach Center with a credit card or a bank account transfer. To make a gift payment over the phone, please call the St. Olaf Fund at 800-733-6523.

The IRA charitable rollover allows donors age 70 ½ and older to make direct distributions to St. Olaf College, resulting in a distinct tax advantage.

You may be able to avoid capital gains tax by giving stock to St. Olaf College.

To complete an electronic transfer of stock or mutual funds, instruct your broker to transfer the securities to St. Olaf’s account at Charles Schwab via the Depository Trust Company (DTC) system.

Recommend a gift through your donor advised fund (DAF) to St. Olaf College by providing the following information to the sponsoring organization of your fund. The organizations have the appropriate forms to complete these donations, which you can usually access through an online portal or by working with your fund adviser. Share this information with your fund organization:

• Name of the fund where your gift should be directed and description of the purpose. Be sure to specify the desired amount of your gift as well.

St. Olaf College can accept wire transfers from domestic and international banks. Donors can also make ACH (Automated Clearing House) or EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) gifts. Select “eCheck”  for payment method.

Many employers will match your gift to St. Olaf College. Check with your employer to submit a matching gift request.

Gifts of $100,000 or more can be used to establish named funds that provide enduring support for unrestricted scholarships. Gifts of $200,000 or more establish named funds that can be dedicated for specific scholarships, programs, and initiatives. All endowed funds are invested and managed by the college and provide lasting support that grows each year.

Planned gifts are donations made to St. Olaf as part of your overall financial or estate plan. Several options exist to help you maximize your assets and leave a larger legacy than you might have imagined.

Maximize my impact through A planned gift

Gifts made to honor loved ones and their experiences can create opportunities for students.

Contact Donor Relations to create or direct memorial gifts to a certain fund/scholarship. Gifts without designation will be directed through the General St. Olaf Fund. With contact information, the college can provide your preferred contact updates on gifts made — these will include the donor name, purpose of gift, gift date, and donor address.

Memorial gifts can be made online (select “I’d Like to Search for a Different Option”, then enter the name of your honoree under “Specify”). They may also be made to St. Olaf College fund/scholarship name if appropriate, with the person whom the tribute is for written in the check note, and mailed to:
