Connie Dietz Creel ’67
Connie Dietz Creel had lunch with Diane Allen Hayden ’67 and Marilyn Quello ’67 at the Ole Store in early September 2014, followed by a tour of the new campus buildings led by Diane’s daughter, Kirsten Hayden Cahoon ’98, who works at St. Olaf. Connie retired on July 1, 2014 from the University of California Santa Cruz, after 20 years as an Academic Adviser. She is now auditing history classes at the university on the Mid-East and participating in seminars offered by Westar Institute. She also serves on several boards and committees, including Lutheran Campus Ministry and the Santa Cruz Progressive Christian Forum, and sings in the St. Stephen’s Lutheran choir. Connie’s husband of 33 years, Julius, passed away suddenly and peacefully on May 22, 2014, at the age of 85. They have one daughter, Nikki, 31, who is a graduate student in clinical psychology at Antioch University, Santa Barbara, Calif.
