Kyle Svingen ’11
Kyle writes: “I am in my third year of teaching at Oakland International High School. OIHS is an alternative public high school for students who immigrate to the United States as teenagers. I teach English and serve as the 11th grade team leader.
In August 2014, I graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a master of arts in urban education. I was also appointed as a Hollyhock Fellow at Stanford University. This fellowship seeks to develop high school teachers in high-poverty schools.”
