Oles in the Arts & Museums Speed Networking (Virtual) | Nov 12

St. Olaf students are welcome to attend a virtual event connecting St. Olaf alumni who work in a broad range of roles within arts organizations and museums of all kinds with current students to discuss their career insights and life after St. Olaf.

In one quick hour, you’ll have the chance to meet 1-1 with up to 6 Oles!

Format

We will use Meetaway to host this online “speed networking” event – you’ll be matched with other attendees for a series of 8-10 minute video calls. After each 1-1 conversation, you will automatically rotate to the next one. Just log in to the event and Meetaway will handle the rest.

What can you expect during each 1-1?

• Share introductions
• Alumni: Share your path since St. Olaf, your current role and organization, and insight into your field
• Students: Share your interests, ideas, and questions with alumni
• Together: Dive deeper into the field, discuss how to navigate career decisions after college, share advice, and follow the conversation wherever it takes you.

Conversations are intentionally brief! After the event you can choose to follow up if you’d like to continue the conversation with a specific attendee.

Attending the event

• Register to attend.
• Request Matches. You’ll have the chance to request matches a few days prior to the event. This is optional, but can be especially helpful for students who have specific career interests they want to explore.
• At the start time, join via an event link that will be sent to you via email.

Be sure to join the event on a laptop or desktop with a modern browser such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or new Edge. While Meetaway supports mobile devices, laptops or desktops result in a better overall experience for everyone. If you choose to connect via mobile device, Apple users will need to use the Safari browser, and Android users will need to use the Chrome browser.
