St. Olaf Band Family Weekend Concert

The St. Olaf Band, conducted by Timothy Mahr '78, presents its Family Weekend concert. Founded in 1891, the St. Olaf Band is an ensemble noted for superb musicianship. Under the leadership of Mahr, the St. Olaf Band performs the very best compositions and transcriptions for symphonic band, producing an exciting, crowd-pleasing style.

Family Weekend Concert

The Viking Chorus, Manitou Singers, Norseman Band, and St. Olaf Philharmonia present their family weekend concert. Conductors include Tesfa Wondemagegnehu, Therees Hibbard, Arthur Haecker, and Martin Hodel. The concert is free and open to the public.

The St. Olaf Orchestra, conducted by Professor of Music Steven Amundson, presents a homecoming concert. The 92-member St. Olaf Orchestra, widely recognized as one of the finest undergraduate orchestras in the United States, has been featured on NPR and PBS and was the 2013 winner of the the American Prize in Orchestral Performance.

Founded in 1891, the St. Olaf Band is the oldest music organization at St. Olaf College, a campus internationally renowned for its high caliber of music ensembles.
