There are a number of study abroad opportunities available for economics students.
Three popular program for economics majors are the Danish Institute for Study Abroad (DIS), IES Milan, and the London School of Economics (LSE).
DIS has extensive course offering especially in economics, finance, and management. Students usually attend for one semester during the junior year or in the fall semester of the senior year. There are no specific requirements to apply to DIS.
LSE is a year-long, highly competitive program. Students attend during their junior year. To apply to the program, students need to have completed or be enrolled in the two core theory courses: Econ 261 and Econ 262. Ideally, students should also complete Econ 263 or Stat 272 prior to the end of the sophomore year. LSE’s courses are year-long and are often at an advanced level, similar to our Level III courses, but they will still count toward the major as Level II analysis.
IES Milan: Economics, Finance, and Management at Universitá Commerciale Bocconi is one of the most prestigious European schools of business, economics, and finance. Most courses are taught in English and are offered on a semester basis. IES Milan also provides assistance with internship opportunities in finance and management.
Other popular programs for economics majors include Harris Manchester College (Oxford University, U.K.) and Trinity College (Dublin, Ireland), and interim programs to Argentina, China, and New Zealand with economics and management studies faculty.
