[Faculty Handbook Category #1]
The Bookstore is located on the lower level of the Buntrock Commons. St. Olaf employees, spouses, dependents, and domestic partners are eligible for a discount on their purchases with valid identification. This discount excludes food and beverages, health and beauty products, all recorded music, magazines/newspapers, and phone/gift cards. The Bookstore accepts St. Olaf department charges, as well major credit cards.
Textbooks: Faculty may make textbook requests for their classes online at any time during the year at the St. Olaf bookstore website. The Bookstore also sends textbook request forms to each faculty member well in advance of the start of each term. Faculty are encouraged to make their textbook requests as soon as possible so the store has a greater chance of acquiring cheaper used copies for students.
The bookstore also asks that as few bundled packages as possible are requested to keep costs to a minimum for all students, as bundles are not available in a used format.
Once a textbook order has been shipped from the publisher, the bookstore cannot be held responsible if the Professor cancels the use of the textbook in the classroom. If the Prof cancels a text, the Professor’s department will be held responsible for all charges involved in receiving, shipping, and returning the books.
The Bookstore is not allowed, due to publisher policies, to order desk copies of textbooks for faculty members.
