[Faculty Handbook Category #3]
The Early Alert System is a means by which instructors can bring problems of individual students to the attention of their faculty adviser, the Dean of Students Office, and other support groups. The Early Alert System is intended to be a pro-active method of identifying student problems. Forms are available online and from the Dean of Students Office.
Instructors are encouraged to file an Early Alert Form that alerts the Office of the Dean of Students to students who are having attendance, academic or personal difficulties in a course. The students are contacted and invited to meet with their class dean to discuss the problems they are experiencing in class or other areas.
