


A photo from the 6th of October. Notice that the leaves are just a touch yellower than they were in the last picture. However, with the exception of the vine on the left which has turned a deep red, the colors have not really changed noticeably. Leaves change color as part of the plant’s preparation for winter. The tree will digest its chlorophyll and reabsorb it, along with other internal structures. This leaves the yellow, red and orange carotenoid pigments.
