NPR’s Robert Siegal meets political science students in New Hampshire
National Public Radio’s Robert Siegal was not the only person drawn to New Hampshire for a taste of primary season. Staying at his hotel were 20 St. Olaf students who were there for Professor of Political Science Dan Hofrenning’s The New Hampshire Primary and U.S. Presidential Politics class to serve as interns on the various campaigns. Siegal spoke with three of the students and their professor.
“We’re all political science majors for the most part and we’ve been studying the New Hampshire primary while we’re here, and you finally get to live it,” Emma Whitford ’18 tells Siegal. “And so whether that’s, like, three hours in the cold knocking doors talking to voters, you still get a rush every time you get to break through to one of them and tell them about your candidate.”
