St. Olaf celebrates Homecoming and Family Weekend

Over a crisp fall weekend, hundreds of members of the St. Olaf College community gathered on the Hill to celebrate Homecoming and Family Weekend.

The weekend featured a wide variety of festivities. Visitors had the opportunity to attend athletic events, enjoy performances by the college’s renowned music ensembles, sit in on St. Olaf classes, tour the Natural Lands, participate in an Amazing Race, and check out the Flaten Art Museum exhibit featuring the work of Professor of Art and Art History John Saurer.

St. Olaf President Susan Rundell Singer invited families and alumni to join her for conversation over coffee and tea in the Fireside Lounge, the first time that many had the opportunity to meet the college’s newly inaugurated 12th president.

Student researchers showcased the work they completed on 34 different faculty-mentored projects over the course of 10 weeks as part of the Collaborative Undergraduate Research and Inquiry (CURI) program.

The St. Olaf Band, conducted by Henry Dorn, performed a concert on Saturday night. The Family Weekend Concert on Sunday featured performances by the Manitou Singers, Norseman Band, Philharmonia, and Viking Chorus.

To all alumni, parents, and guests who traveled to the Hill, thank you for joining us for a weekend at home. Um! Yah! Yah!
