On your ever-turning path, may you sense the timeless in you, connecting you through liturgy and life…in season and sacrament, with neighbors and all creation, to God’s great love story
Vonda Drees, January 2004
Opening God’s Story is designed to help an intergenerational community of faith more deeply know God, ourselves, and others through dwelling in the Gospel of Mark. Through this project, participants add to a WonderPod in worship each week and build a take home treasure chest that will remind, reinforce, and encourage further discoveries!
Additional visual art pieces for congregational worship will also be created. Opening God’s story is being piloted by Immanuel Lutheran Church and Pastor Bree Truax in Rock Falls, Illinois. Vonda Drees has served as artistic collaborator for this project. A congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Immanuel Lutheran is a congregation that gathers as the people of Christ, serving with love, faith, and hope. Opening God’s Story materials materials will be available to all participants in the Conference on Worship, Theology, and the Arts.
