January 29, 2020
Dear Members of the St. Olaf Community,
As students and faculty are returning to campus from travels abroad and within the US, we want you to know that St. Olaf College is monitoring the coronavirus (2019-nCov) situation carefully and is taking proactive and prudent measures to ensure the health and safety of the St. Olaf community in accordance with frequently updated information from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
St. Olaf knows which students have recently traveled in China. As of January 29, 2020, none of these students has reported any symptoms of illness. These students should follow the same advice presented in this email should they fall ill.
We are asking everyone to take steps to protect yourself and others, and to prevent the spread of respiratory viruses, especially during cold and flu season.
If you have a fever and respiratory illness (cough), it is recommended that you be evaluated by local resources as listed on the Health Services web site. If students are ill, Public Safety can transport students to the Northfield ER.
The best resources for students to call next week are either the Area Coordinator on Call (507-786-3333) or Public Safety (507-786-3666).
We will continue to provide updates as new information becomes available.
