Returning Student Parking Permit Process
Submission of an application does not mean that your permit request has been approved. There is no guarantee that submitting a parking permit application will result in a parking permit being issued due to limited availability. Permit applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
The returning student parking permit application process is as follows:
- Complete THIS APPLICATION by April 25, 2025.
- Application status (application approval or denial) from the Parking Office will be communicated via email by May 31, 2025.
- If approved, you will receive an email including two links:
- First link: REGISTER. Register your vehicle. If at any point the vehicle you bring to campus changes, you MUST notify the Parking Office with the updated information.
- Second link: PAY. Complete payment and secure your parking permit by an established deadline.
Application approval does not guarantee a permit until registration and payment is received. Both steps must be COMPLETED IN FULL by the deadline provided in the approval email to secure your permit. Failure to register your vehicle and/or complete payment will result in a forfeiture of your permit. No exceptions will be granted.
- Please do not use spaces or dashes (-) when entering your license plate number.
- Incorrect: 123 ABC ; 123-ABC
- Correct: 123ABC
- If you do not have your license plate number yet (new vehicles) please enter your @stolaf.edu email address in the license plate number field. Email parking@stolaf.edu when you receive your new plates and we will update your vehicle information in the system.
By submitting the permit application, the applicant is acknowledging that they have read, understand, and agree to the St. Olaf Parking Policy.
All permit purchases are final and non-refundable, no exceptions.
Summer Parking
Students who have a vehicle and will be staying on campus to study or work for the summer (Memorial Day through August 31) will need to obtain a Summer Parking Permit. The cost of the permit for the summer is $35.00. This covers both Summer Session I and Summer Session II.
As during the academic year, the parking policy is still in effect 24/7/365.
Summer permit holders may park in Lot B.
Due to the various conferences and events that will be held on campus throughout the summer, it is extremely important that students park where their permit allows, and not take up faculty/staff/visitor spaces that will be needed by others.
Temporary Parking
Students can obtain a 7-day temporary parking permit for $30 by calling Public Safety at 507-786-3666. The permit cost is payable by credit or debit card.
