Google Meet
- Access via the Google App picker in the upper right of any Google App:
- Also available at meet.google.com
- A replacement of the classic Hangouts video calls, Google Meet offers an intuitive interface and has many of the same features as Zoom
- Up to 250 participants (Zoom capped at 100)
- Unlimited duration group meetings (Zoom Basic capped at 40 min)
- Built-in integration with Google Calendar (add “conferencing” to any event to schedule video calls with colleagues)
- Add groups or entire departments or offices to calendar event, or send meeting link to colleagues
- Share screens with participants for demos/presentations
- Built in integration with Google Chat (chat.google.com) so students can have text conversations via Google Chat and jump into a Google Meet video call easily

Google Meet in Grid View
There is now an extension for Chrome and Firefox that gives you a grid view of meeting participants. To install the extension, visit Google Meet Grid View for Chrome or Firefox Grid View for Meet. Once installed, you’ll have a new button in the upper-right corner when in a meeting.
Click on the grid to toggle it on and off.

- Group calls limited to 40 minutes
- Share screens (including connected iOS devices) and collaborative whiteboards with participants

- Breakout rooms for group sub-meetings

Online Chat

- Easy one-on-one realtime text chat with colleagues
- Available at chat.google.com (Use your St. Olaf credentials if prompted)
- Can create “rooms” for group conversations
