St. Olaf College | Reunion Weekend

Class of 1985 Reunion Letter

Dear Class of ’85 Classmates,
How can it be 40 years since our St. Olaf College graduation? The early 1980s saw Ronald Reagan elected president, Sandra Day O’Connor became the first woman U.S. Supreme Court Justice, Sally Ride was the first U.S. woman astronaut, Mel George became the first College President who was not an ordained Lutheran Minister, computers and word processing came to campus, and Prince was in his prime. What a difference four decades makes!
Come join us for our 40th reunion on the weekend of May 30– June 1, 2025. There are new and engaging activities planned for the weekend. All reunion events will take place on campus. Park once and stay put. Shuttles are available to take us around campus. On Saturday afternoon, there will be a trolley to downtown Northfield for those who want to explore. Did we mention you can have a drink on campus while we host an 80s silent disco on the campus green? Come join the fun!
Just as our Ole years were instrumental in influencing our adult life, we wish to generate a sense of gratitude for the foundation laid during those college years. While many events are planned for the weekend, we’ve tried to keep it low-key with built-in times for casual conversation to share and reflect on our foundation.
View the current schedule for the weekend on the Reunion website, and you will also receive a final program when you arrive. Two events are just for us, including the opening social on Friday night that flows into a progressive-style social and our Saturday evening class dinner. All the events should provide wonderful opportunities to renew old ties and remember our college years together.
If you haven’t registered yet, sign up and join us!

Our 40th reunion is a chance to remember and reconnect. With our kids now graduated themselves and retirement on the horizon (or in the rear view mirror for some), we hope you have the time to join us. The reunion is also an opportunity to learn about what is exciting and new on the Hill in 2025. We look forward to a fantastic reunion and seeing each of you!
