Each semester program offered by the Smith Center has a faculty program advisor. The role of a program advisor is to:
- promote the program/answer questions at our annual study abroad/away fair (90 minutes, each October/November)
- learn about the program and advise students who are interested in applying to participate (student advising contacts scattered between October and February)
- review applications and select participants (generally 1-5 applicants per year)
- offer an orientation session (up to 2 hours, together with returned students, in September and April)
- meet with returned students to gather feedback on their experience (45 minutes, once each semester in September and February)
The time commitment is about 10-15 hours spread across the year. Let us know if you are interested in serving as a program advisor!
