Life On & Beyond the Hill – An International Ole Alumni Panel with Seda Bagiryan (’21)

International Ole alumni share their wisdom with our International current Oles. Topics covered will be how to pursue various opportunities while at St. Olaf and how to prepare for life beyond the Hill.

Working out Your Core: How the Ole Core Can Support Your Best Goals with Dr. Brian Borovsky (’94)

In this session students will be encouraged to think about the long-term benefits of thoughtfully choosing Ole Core classes, rather than viewing the GE curriculum as a bunch of things to get done and check off the list. Students will consider the experience of taking the courses themselves, both the joys and challenges. We will reveal the surprising benefits to your career choices and think about how your lives as a whole can be richer by taking full advantage of the Ole Core.

Translating the Liberal Arts with Kate Warren (’95)

Through the lens of Katie’s own personal St. Olaf experience,  students will be providing with the understanding that by pursuing the liberal arts they are building career skills. Students will discover how to build on their skills by playing to their strengths and identifying opportunities to apply those strengths.

Mapping Your Community Through Co-Curricular Involvement with Nick Hoverstad (’14)

Many students come to St. Olaf for the community, but what does that mean? This session will explore how leveraging the St. Olaf community through co-curricular involvement, broadly and in a variety of forms, can enrich your experience on the Hill and even inform how you take your first steps off the Hill upon graduation.

Connections that Count: Mastering Networking to Shape Your Future with Carlie Ness and Mazen Abdullah Abu-Sharkh (’18)

Come see how to explore the essentials of networking through a panel discussion, followed by a hands-on activity to map out valuable connections and uncover new opportunities.

Becoming a Solution Seeker: From St. Olaf to The Real World with Carlos Fernandez (’21)

Oles thrive at the intersection of what they love and what the world needs. What makes you a solution seeker? What are the intersections in your own story? What is unique from your experiences that you bring to the table? Let’s dive into how you can discover your strengths, what you are good at, and what you can do with it to find your own path at St. Olaf and launch your future.
