Frequently Asked Questions about applying to SSSD

For all applications for the incoming class of 2030:
Applications should be submitted on or before April 22, 2026. Applicants will be informed of decisions the following week. Applications submitted after this date will be considered on a rolling basis.
As there are a limited number of spaces available in the SSSD Program, priority will be given to:
- Students who are both income eligible and a student with a documented disability
- Alumni of other TRIO programs: Upward Bound, Talent Search, Educational Opportunity Center, other Student Support Services;
- Students who demonstrate a need for SSSD program services
- MOST IMPORTANTLY, students MOTIVATED to make full use of TRIO SSSD services.
- Completed SSSD application.
- Documentation of a disability is required. If you are not currently registered with Disability and Access (DAC), you will need to complete the intake process found on the DAC website (https://wp.stolaf.edu/academic-support/getting_started/). If you are currently registered with DAC, obtain a letter of eligibility for SSSD from your Accessibility Specialist.
All these criteria must be met to be eligible for SSSD
- Citizens or nationals of the United States or people who meet the residency requirements for federal student financial assistance.
- Students enrolled at St. Olaf College or accepted for enrollment in the next academic term at St. Olaf College.
- Students who have a need for SSSD program services.
- Individuals with a disability.
