Staff and Faculty Well-Being
The St. Olaf College Staff and Faculty Well-Being Committee was established in the fall of 2019 to create a vision for what health and well-being looks like for staff and faculty here on the Hill.
MISSION: To engage, educate, and empower all staff and faculty to improve their health and well-being.
VISION: St. Olaf College will build and sustain a multi-faceted approach to staff and faculty well-being by providing knowledge, resources, and opportunities to realize a holistic and healthy life.
You may recall a well-being survey we distributed to all staff and faculty in December 2021. This survey sought to identify the needs and interests of our community. The 173 responses we received were extremely helpful in providing us with an understanding of what matters most to our colleagues.
When asked which areas of well-being our colleagues wish to learn more about or prioritize, emotional and physical health were identified as the top areas of interest as shown in the following graph.
Responses to the question about future resources and programming reflected a similar interest in help on work-life balance, stress management, and exercise.
The information provided has helped us outline our themes and we are excited to begin offering both online and in-person resources, activities, and events for the spring semester. Our plan is to send communications about upcoming programming to faculty and staff on “Wellness Wednesdays.” Our first in-person event will promote one of our many on-campus resources while giving our community a chance to connect in-person.
Thank you to the many staff and faculty who participated in the survey. We look forward to offering tools and resources in support of your well-being. Please reach out to us if you have any questions or suggestions for future events!
