Accommodations Request Form:
Students who believe they have a current need for disability-related accommodations and resources are encouraged to complete and submit the appropriate request form:
At St. Olaf College, we believe residential life is a vital part of the student experience. Our vibrant residential community fosters the connections that make St. Olaf a top choice for a liberal arts education. In most cases, St. Olaf students will be required to live with a roommate. Also in most cases, the needs of students with disabilities can be met through on-campus solutions before off-campus accommodations are considered. If disability accommodations are required for equitable access, please submit the Residence Life Accommodation (Housing, Parking, or Dining) request form along with specific documentation from a current, relevant provider. Please click on the link to learn what level of detail is needed by the college.
Students who believe they had a need for an exemption to an institutional policy such as Meal Plan or Housing for Financial reasons should contact Financial Aid.
Students who believe they have a need for an exemption to an institutional policy such as Meal Plan or Housing for Religious reasons should contact St. Olaf College Ministry.
Welcome Meeting:
An Access Specialist will reach out to you after reviewing your request form to set up a Welcome Meeting. Together, you and your Access Specialist will discuss the barriers (functional limitations) you are experiencing as a result of your disability. If it is determined that reasonable accommodations can be made to offset those barriers to achieve equal access as your peers, a comprehensive accommodation plan will be developed. An Accommodation Letter will be created to send to relevant faculty for the current term. Your Access Specialist will discuss any additional resources that may be helpful during your time at St. Olaf.
Provide documentation before/at your Welcome Meeting:
You may email or deliver your documentation right away, or bring it to your Welcome Meeting. For the level of detail needed in your documentation, please visit our Documentation Criteria page.
For students already registered with Disability and Access, please use your MyDAC accommodations manager to request your accommodations, or visit http://stolaf-dac.youcanbook.me to request an appointment with your Access Specialist.
