Where can you learn more about gender and sexuality differences in the community(ies) you are engaging with? If there are differences, how might you navigate them?

Which community partners advance causes around gender and sexuality inequity and injustice that you are passionate about?

What are some ways that you can self-advocate and/or ensure that your fellow students are empowered and affirmed in their gender identity and sexuality?

If you identify as having a marginalized gender identity and sexuality, what are some ways you need your peers and faculty to support you as an equal participant?

If a professor or student is repeatedly using the wrong pronouns, making inappropriate jokes, or expecting a student to be silent or represent an identity, how will you check up on the student and report the problem?

When working with community partners, how can you help support a positive culture of affirming everyone’s gender identity and sexuality?

When working with community partners, you may encounter people who have a different gender identity or  sexuality from you. When working on your ACE project, there will likely be no reason to talk explicitly about sexuality with them unless it pertains to the project at hand. A community partner should not ask questions about your sexuality or make assumptions. You should either tell them directly, or use your professor, trusted classmates, and the ACE office as a resource to stop any harmful interactions without repercussions to you.
