Opening Convocation

The St. Olaf Community is welcome to attend this year’s Opening Convocation. St. Olaf College will usher in the new 2023-24 academic year on Thursday, September 7 in Boe Memorial Chapel.
Student Government Association President Sophia Pletcher ’24 will welcome the congregation. Steve Freedberg, Professor of Biology, will deliver an Opening Convocation address titled “Do We Belong?”.
This official opening of the academic year includes a formal procession by the members of the St. Olaf faculty robed in their academic regalia.
