Descriptions, intended learning outcomes, and course guidelines for GE accreditation
The requirements comprising the St. Olaf General Education (GE) curriculum are established by the entire college faculty. Each requirement includes a brief description, a statement of intended learning outcomes, course guidelines for GE accreditation, and comments from the St. Olaf Curriculum Committee to assist instructors in preparing proposals for GE credit.
Courses are accredited for General Education by the St. Olaf Curriculum Committee, which reviews instructors’ proposals showing how a given course meets each of the guidelines for the relevant requirement. Forms and instructions for submitting proposals for GE course accreditation are available on the website of the Office of the Registrar.
