About Global Economic Forum
The St. Olaf Global Economic Forum is a student-run organization that meets monthly for discussions about economic issues around the globe, taking a collaborative approach to foster productive dialogue surrounding current events. Some of their discussions in the 25-26 academic year included the economics of Pakistan’s marriage market, trade agreements and emerging market relations in the Strait of Hormoz, and the possibility of a global carbon tax to mitigate the consequences of climate change. They were joined by various guest speakers throughout the year and collaborated with other clubs on campus. Global Economic Forum is committed to facilitating an open and inclusive dialogue for students on campus to address relevant economic issues across the globe, and looks forward to hosting more events in the new academic year.
