St. Olaf College | New Students

Week of July 25th, 2021

Hello!

We talk a lot about experiencing the four seasons at St. Olaf. The surrounding town of Northfield is a big bonus.

In a usual year, the fall not only brings students to campus, but also brings trips along the Cannon River, beautiful colors, and occasional excursions to the nearby apple orchard.

In December, Northfield sets a festive scene for Winter Walk. It’s one night when the whole town comes out for horse-drawn carriage rides, hot chocolate, and caroling while shopping in the historic downtown.

After a long winter, spring in Minnesota is hard to explain. You’ll have to experience it for yourselves, but it’s like everyone breathes a collective deep breath and heads outside to study, work, and play.

Then, it’s summer before you know it!

While this past year has held much uncertainty and altered what life has looked like on the Hill, we hope that this coming year will look more familiar to the ones we’ve enjoyed in the past. No matter what this new semester brings, we can’t wait for you to experience Northfield and the Hill for yourselves.
