Steve Lee ‘74 Philosophy Award
The Steve Lee ‘74 Philosophy Award is a $1000 cash award given annually to a philosophy major with demonstrated financial need and academic promise.
To be eligible for the award, you must meet the following conditions:
(a) You will be enrolled full time at Saint Olaf during the next academic year. Graduating seniors are not eligible.
(b) You are a current philosophy major and will be continuing as a philosophy major next year.
(c) You are receiving need-based financial aid from Saint Olaf.
The recipient of the award will be determined by the philosophy department faculty, based on students’ academic promise as revealed in their philosophical work, combined with their level of financial need as documented by the financial aid office.
The Department Chair will send out an announcement to majors in the spring term with details about how to apply.

Weber Scholars
Weber Scholars is a 10-week summer research program run by the College’s Institute for Freedom and Community. Students conduct mentored independent research on themes related to the core mission of the Institute, working on a public affairs/public policy topic of their choice. The program welcomes philosophical research projects, making this an opportunity for students to conduct research in areas such as philosophy of race, social philosophy, political philosophy, or ethics. The position comes with a stipend and housing.
