Pre-Professional Accounting

Students planning to sit for the CPA examination upon graduation should major in economics or mathematics and take elective courses in accounting and finance. New members of the American Institute of CPAs are required to earn one year of college credit beyond the bachelor’s degree. Students are strongly advised to check the regulations for licensure in the state where they intend to practice.

No Management Studies courses are open to first-year students.

CREDIT FOR PREVIOUS COURSEWORK/PLACEMENT
  • Credit for Economics 121 is given to students who (1) receive scores of 4 and above on BOTH the AP Macroeconomics and the AP Microeconomics Examinations, (2) earn a 6 or a 7 on the IB Higher Level (HL) Examination in Economics, or (3) earn an A (a*) on the Cambridge A Level Exam in Economics.
