We believe that the best way to prepare for a career in journalism or another form of professional writing is to choose a major and courses outside of that major that involve a broad and deep experience with reading and writing. Majoring in English is certainly one option, though other writing-intensive majors in the humanities, social sciences, or interdisciplinary fields are also worth considering.
