Program Advising
Each semester program offered by the Smith Center has a faculty program advisor. The role of a program advisor is to:
1. promote the program/answer questions at our annual study abroad/away fair (90 minutes, each October/November)
2. learn about the program and advise students who are interested in applying to participate (student advising contacts scattered between October and February)
3. review applications and select participants (generally 1-5 applicants per year)
4. offer an orientation session (up to 2 hours, together with returned students, in September and April)
5. meet with returned students to gather feedback on their experience (45 minutes, once each semester in September and February)
The time commitment is about 10-15 hours spread across the year. Let us know if you are interested in serving as a program advisor!
