
Whether you are trying to get to downtown or Carleton, volunteer opportunities or shopping, there are a number of transportation options St. Olaf students can use to travel around Northfield. Click the boxes to the right to view some of the most commonly utilized options!
This shuttle service is shared between St. Olaf and Carleton providing daytime transportation in Northfield and Dundas for students to get to medical appointments, pharmacy trips, or to volunteer or work locally. This service is not intended for shopping or entertainment.

- Runs while either campus is open, except for days Northfield Public Schools are closed for weather.

Hiawathaland Transit is a public transportation service that provides daytime service within the city limits of Northfield. Hiawathaland Transit has established red and blue routes that serve most of the city limits.

Hiawathaland also offers Dial-A-Ride for stops outside of the regular Red and Blue routes.

The Hiawathaland Express bus is a public, shortened route (compared to the Blue and Red Hiawathaland routes).

- Runs while either campus is open, except winter break, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, and Easter.

Hiawathaland Transit established a direct route between Northfield and Faribault City Halls.

In the Spring of 2025, SGA, in partnership with the Environmental Coalition, worked to revive the Ole Bike Program, an initiative that existed on campus from 2010-2021. Located in Buntrock Commons, the Ole Bike Program was created to offer free access to bikes and expand students’ ability to travel to and throughout Northfield.
