Description: This photo was taken when a group of classmates and I were walking down a city street in Baños de Aqua Santa, Ecuador. This rain-forest climate had several spectacular waterfalls, but this was the largest one, right in the middle of the city. It was illuminated by vivid lights at night, and flowed into a low hot springs. Our host families relayed local legends to us about the waterfall, with many holding a cultural belief that the water was holy and held miraculous qualities.
