On November 22, Spanish students gathered at the Rose House, la Casa Hispánica, to hear Professor Cecilia Cornejo, professor of Theatre at St. Olaf and Carleton, as she presented a lecture and presentation on the events of September 11, 2001 in relation to her experiences as a native Chilean and the events of the “Golpe de Estado” in 1973. Through a visual presentation, Professor Cornejo reflected upon her personal experiences during the terrorist strike in Chile and the conversations with her parents in relation to the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks and how to cope and live with such acts of domestic trauma.
On October 3rd, Students and faculty gathered in the Tomson Hall Lantern for ¡Tertulia y Tapas! Students from Spanish 250 and other courses came to enjoy tapas enpañolas and conversation with the Spanish faculty and staff.
