Admitted Student Day programs
The April 7 and April 14 Admitted Student Day programs are very similar each day (same session offerings, some different panelists and presenters). The day begins with check-in at the Buntrock Commons and breakfast in Stav Hall. The formal program begins in Boe Memorial Chapel at 9 a.m. The day includes a variety of information sessions by faculty, staff, and students, plus lunch and campus tours. The program ends around 3 p.m. More detailed information about the program is available at 2018 ASD Schedule.
Campus and Class Visits prior to Admitted Student Days
Many admitted students and their guests (usually one or two family members) elect to visit campus the Friday before Admitted Student Day. On Friday, students may attend classes, and meet faculty, coaches, or conductors. Guests may tour the campus and enjoy a meal in Stav Hall. We are eager to assist in crafting a schedule that meets your needs. We’ll have a number of class visit options for Friday, April 6 (before the Admitted Student Day 1 program) or Friday, April 13 (before the Admitted Student Day 2 program). Please use the registration links above to schedule a visit and indicate what you would like to do while on campus. If you wish to attend a class, please plan to arrive on campus in the morning.
Overnight visits for Admitted Student Days
You can indicate your interest in an overnight visit on the campus visit registration form. Please plan to bring a sleeping bag, pillow, towel, and necessary personal items. Ideally we ask that you plan to arrive between 5 and 7 p.m. (if the Friday overnight visit is your first event on Friday); doing so allows you to meet your host for dinner. If you are already on campus earlier in the day, we will schedule your meeting with the overnight host accordingly. Please submit your request for a Friday visit no later than March 30 (for the April 7 Admitted Student Day program) or April 6 (for the April 14 Admitted Student Day program).
Reception for Parents
Friday, April 6, and Friday, April 13
Parents of admitted students are cordially invited to meet other parents of admitted students and members of the college’s senior leadership team at a special reception in Minneapolis, Minnesota. We will host two events, one prior to each Admitted Student Day, Friday, April 6, or Friday, April 13. Please join us from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at The J.W. Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America Hotel, 2141 Lindau Lane, Minneapolis, MN, just 10 minutes from the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport (MSP) and about 45 minutes north of the St. Olaf campus. Please register for this reception on the Admitted Student Day registration form.
For families planning to stay over night in Minneapolis, please ask J.W. Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America for the special St. Olaf College rate, which is available on the nights of April 5-7 and April 12-14. To reserve a room, please call Marriott reservations directly at 800-228-9290 or 612-615-0100 and ask for the St. Olaf College room block. These rooms will be held until March 30.
We’re looking forward to seeing you in April. If you have any questions, please contact the Admissions Office at 800-800-3025 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
