Our Pedagogy

Instructional Technologists use a literacies framework to teach skills and habits of mind that students need to be savvy users and producers of information and lifelong learners. Our instruction draws from these fundamental principles and is shaped in collaboration with faculty.

For Faculty

Due to high demand, we request you to reach out as early as possible to arrange for class instruction in order to ensure availability, including space availability if you have a preferred space. It is recommended to reach out a minimum of two weeks prior to your preferred instruction date. If instructional technology is at capacity during your class time they will share online resources to support your course.

For faculty, we can consult on:

For Students

Instructional Technology will often consult with students one-on-one or in small groups. We can assist with training on technology used for coursework, professional development, or personal projects. If you would like to schedule an appointment, contact us using the DiSCO Resource Request form.

For students, we can consult on:

  • Availability of supplies and resources in the DiSCO
  • Consult on technology use for research projects
  • Prototyping & Design
  • Scheduling spaces in the DiSCO for events (ie. student orgs)
