Recitals

Guidelines for Official Music Department Recitals

Students must be enrolled in lessons with a St. Olaf Music Department faculty member in order to perform in an official recital. Additionally, students must be currently studying the instrument/voice type they apply to perform for the recital. See “Recital Expectations” for more information (I).

Official Music Department Recitals include the following events:

  • General Student Recitals (II)
  • Junior and Senior Recitals that fulfill a degree requirement (III),
  • Recitals by any senior music major taking lessons in the semester of the performance,
  • Chamber Ensemble, Composition, and Advanced Conducting Recitals (IV).

See “Recital Programs” (V) for more information regarding the programs provided at these official music department recitals.

Please see “Informal Recitals” (VI) for additional non-departmental performance opportunities.

Before planning or scheduling any recital performance, consult with your instructor and see  Collaborative Pianist  for more information.

For space availability and room reservation requests, check the 25 Live Room Reservations WebViewer. No two official Music Department events may be scheduled at the same time.

See “Recital Applications” (VII) for all of your application needs. All current application deadlines can be found here.
