Music major applicants should submit the required repertoire shown below for the desired degree program. All music major applicants will be automatically considered for scholarships.
Non-music major applicants should submit the same repertoire as required for the BA music majors.
We would like to encourage you to consider a work by composers from historically underrepresented groups, such as Adolphus Hailstork’s Bassoon Set, Jenni Brandon’s Colored Stones, or Jacqueline Wilson’s Dance Suite.
B.A. music major, music education, non-music major
- Two pieces in contrasting styles. Approximately 10 minutes total.
- Scales — ascending and descending, full range of instrument
- Chromatic
- Two major scales of your choice
B.M. performance major
- Two contrasting concerto movements: one fast, one slow (the Mozart or Weber bassoon concertos are preferred)
- One étude of your choice (Weissenborn’s 50 Advanced Studies or Milde’s 50 Concert Studies opus 26 are preferred)
- Scales — ascending and descending, full range of instrument
- Chromatic
- Two major scales of your choice
