Through collaboration with many departments across campus, we have been involved in numerous efforts, both large and small, that have made the Hill a safer place to live, learn, and work. A few of these involvements include:
- Adding crosswalk signs at high traffic areas
- Ergonomic training and workstation evaluations
- Implementation of hand sanitizer stations in Buntrock and Skoglund/Tostrud
- Increased lighting across campus
- Safety net installation over the orchestra pit in the Theater building
- Safety signage on the sledding hills
- Severe weather signage in residence halls and academic buildings
- Stairs created by the baseball fields
- Adding SGA representative to committee for student input
- Conduct Safety Audits
- Work with Facilities to add additional ‘painted curbs’ to high-traffic areas on campus
- In Case of Emergency poster: a downloadable pdf that contains a quick summary of instructions (choose your building when you download the poster)
- Revisit previously addressed topics to ensure that changes are still meeting needs appropriately, or if they need to be adjusted/adapted
