Writing Placement is a three-part activity to determine a student’s appropriate first-year writing course or course sequence. First, students watch a brief video that explains the first-year writing course options. Then, they complete a survey that asks questions about reading and writing preparation and habits. Finally, they are prompted to read a short article and to write a brief essay. Survey responses and essay supplement application materials to determine writing placement.
Students who must complete Writing Placement receive an email in June with detailed instructions.
