Distinction in Studio Art

Studio Art majors who have completed the requirements for graduation and are enrolled in the senior capstone course (Art 343: Senior Studies) are eligible for distinction.

Upon completion of the senior show, studio art faculty may recommend a student or students for distinction. From these recommendations, the studio faculty collectively make the final decisions on which students receive distinction.  The decisions are based principally on an assessment of the student’s senior work.  The work’s conceptual and technical merits are strongly considered as well as the quality of the presentation of the work and the acumen of the student’s oral defense and written artist statement.
